The 10s and 15 girls competed in the junior competition, with both achieving admirable results, while the 15 girls became the first junior girls team from WA to make it beyond the group stages.

In the seniors the Youth women also gave a good account of themselves and had Zoee Spadano selected in the tournament All-Star squad, the Men’s team excelled, unlucky to lose in golden goal extra-time in the Semi-Final against eventual Winners Northern New South Wales. Josh Chivell was selected in the Men’s All-Star squad after some impressive displays and goals, meanwhile the Women’s team went down in the Grand-Final in golden goal extra-time for the second time in three years. After terrific displays by the Women’s team, Lucy Chan was selected as the goal-keeper in the All-Star squad for the third consecutive National competition.

All-in-all it was a great trip and was brilliant to see the development of our players compared to those from the Eastern states given how far behind WA has been in getting football and futsal programs up and running, with ever increasing numbers of participants and players training specifically for futsal, the future looks bright with West Coast Futsal!
